GBS students have benefited from an engaging programme of practical accounting and digital skills training delivered in partnership with KBM Training & Recruitment, a leading training provider and Gold ACCA Partner.

Delivered over the summer, the programme featured nine sessions, including six in-person and three online, giving students opportunities to develop their skills through a blend of practical and accessible learning.

The sessions were designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and professional practice. Students worked with real-life financial data using Sage software, exploring the accounting process from data entry and processing financial information through to preparing final accounts. They also developed their Excel skills, strengthening their digital capabilities and employability.

Led by experienced KBM trainers, the programme gave students across different levels of study valuable insight into the realities of working in accounting and finance. The practical, hands-on approach helped build confidence while developing the technical and professional skills needed for future careers.

The initiative also extended beyond students, providing professional development opportunities for colleagues across the GBS community. Strong engagement and positive feedback highlighted the value of creating opportunities for continuous learning and development.

The programme reflects GBS’s commitment to working closely with industry partners to enhance the student experience, strengthen employability and provide learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
