Foundation Year
During your Foundation Year, you will have the opportunity to develop academic and employability skills essential for higher education study while being introduced to key concepts in business and tourism through foundational modules. You will explore key areas including business organisations, understanding the tourist and the tourism industry, while developing confidence in writing, critical thinking and presenting ideas. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of business and ethical awareness in the workplace and complete a foundation project to prepare for degree-level study.
Year One
At Level 4 of study, you will build core knowledge of business environments, organisational behaviour, business finance and tourism principles. You will learn how to evaluate tourism product management, assess the relationship between tourism and society and apply marketing principles. You will also engage in collaborative learning, group presentations and practical industry analysis.
Year Two
At Level 5, you will extend your knowledge of tourism management principles, focusing on entrepreneurship, human resource management, operations management and sustainable development. You will explore contemporary issues facing global tourism and learn research methods to analyse complex challenges, culminating in career development planning and problem-solving exercises.
Year Three
At Level 6, you will focus on advanced business and tourism management principles across global contexts. You will critically assess leadership, change and destination management while demonstrating independent research skills. You will showcase your expertise through an extended Project Dissertation, executing independent academic work in an applied setting.
