The Personnel Today Awards celebrate the very best achievements and innovations in HR and learning and development. GBS were up against some big names including Edge Hill University, McLaren Automotive, N Brown Group, Saga Group, TALIS Management Holding, Travelodge Hotels and Wincanton but managed to outshine the competition to win this fantastic accolade.
Tim Mitchell, GBS UK’s Chief People Officer, was delighted for the HR team and their well-deserved recognition as winners of this year’s HR Team of the Year. He adds, “the achievements they have all made in the last 12 months have been second to none, and everyone should be immensely proud of what they have all achieved together.
“Given the ambitious plans for GBS, there are no limits to what this team can achieve in creating a workplace that provides an exceptional experience for both our staff and students.”
The HR team have gone from strength to strength, achieving so much in the past 12 months and adding real value and success to GBS. Growing from 120 staff in 2021 to over 1,000 colleagues today was no mean feat for GBS. The HR team developed a strategic framework that supported the rapid development of the organisation in terms of quality, culture, mindset, and overall capability. Each area of HR had to go above and beyond to recruit effectively, from talent acquisition to engagement and operations. Emphasis was also applied to the onboarding, support and development of the GBS workforce — creating the competence, engagement, and motivation that has been paramount to the successes of GBS.
Amy Scudder, Head of HR at GBS UK, was also thrilled to know that the successes of the HR team will be seen on a global stage. She said, “every member of the team has contributed to us being awarded Personnel Today’s HR Team of the Year which has been achieved through perseverance, hard work and dedication to supporting the business in all areas that are people-orientated.
I am very proud of what has been achieved so far and we are looking to build on the great work we do for both staff and students at GBS.”
