GBS celebrates success in the 2021 In House Recruitment Awards

It has been a highly challenging year for recruitment and employment and we couldn’t be prouder of our Talent Acquisition Team.

Global Banking School (GBS) - the Higher Education provider which is revolutionising access to qualifications for students across the UK – are delighted with their podium position in the 2021 In-House Recruitment Awards.

The Talent Acquisition Team at GBS are rightfully proud of the Silver Award received in the IHR Newcomer category. IHR (inhouserecruitment.co.uk) is the largest community for In-house Recruiters, with over 20,000 members. The IHR Awards set out to discover and recognise the achievements of In-house Recruitment Teams across the UK.

In a challenging year for recruitment in the UK, GBS are celebrating this recognition of the hard work and dedication of their Talent Acquisition Team. Chris Talbot, Head of Human Resources said “Being honoured with a Silver IHR Award is such a great achievement for our team – a team that are all relatively new to GBS themselves. They have worked incredibly hard in 2021, to meet the recruitment needs of a rapidly growing business”.

In fact, the four members of the Talent Acquisition Team have played a key role in the expansion of GBS. Starting 2021 with 129 employees, GBS now has almost 500 full-time employees supporting the delivery of their HND, undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses at campuses in East London, West London, Canary Wharf, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds.

And the growth continues, with recruitment for key positions within the organisation ongoing. Chris Talbot continued, “At GBS, a job is not just a job. It’s a career, a vocation, a way to make a difference in the world. We have stimulating jobs, with the chance to develop a career in an organisation that has not stopped growing”.

Anita Patel, Lead Academic Recruiter and member of the GBS Talent Acquisition Team summed up the team’s feelings on the award, “We are a small team and all new to GBS – and we are so proud of this recognition and of what we have achieved in 2021. We have more milestones ahead of us, and we look forward to aiming for gold in 2022.”
