Following the successful roll-out to academic staff, from 24 November, all staff and students at GBS will begin to receive emails from Global U, inviting them to sign up for our new voluntary, online short courses.
These courses have been purchased by GBS and are offered to you for FREE! On successful completion of the short course, you will receive both a course certificate and a United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Certificate of Completion. Each course is also CPD-accredited, ensuring that participants gain internationally recognised professional development credentials.
What are the courses about?
Awarded by MLA College, these short 30-minute courses, will teach you about the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries – developed and developing – in a global partnership.
How do I sign up?
All GBS staff and students will receive an email with sign up information. Don’t worry if your colleagues get their email sooner than you, it will take time to get these sent to everyone! Once you have your email, you can choose how many courses to take. Start with one that interests you and then take as many of the 17 courses as you like.
Why should I take part?
Through engaging videos and self-assessment quizzes, you will gain a clearer understanding of the structures, systems, and solutions related to all 17 SDGs that will equip you as a global citizen to enact real world change for the better.
