We are thrilled to announce that twelve talented students from our BSc (Hons) Business & Tourism Management course were selected for an incredible opportunity to participate in the British Airways Work Experience Insight Day focused on Sustainability. The event, held on Monday 12th February, brought students together from our campuses in London, Greenford, Birmingham, and Manchester.
This unique experience allowed our students to learn about the world of aviation sustainability — benefitting from the global expertise, knowledge, and insights of British Airways. The collaboration showcased our aspiration to provide our students with essential industry exposure, enhancing their academic journey with formative real-world experiences.
The day was filled with interactive sessions, engaging workshops, and first-hand accounts from professionals at the forefront of establishing sustainable practices within the aviation sector. Our students had the chance to explore innovative initiatives undertaken by British Airways to reduce their environmental footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future for the travel industry.
As our students explored various aspects of sustainability in the aviation sector, they gained a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the industry. The British Airways Insight Day was also a great platform for networking and mentorship, allowing our students to connect with seasoned professionals who shared valuable career advice and expert insights. This experience will undoubtedly contribute to their academic growth and future success in the dynamic world of business and tourism.
Bringing everyone together from different campuses was a great opportunity to share this unique experience with the most diverse range of students possible. This reflected our commitment to inclusivity but also highlighted the collective enthusiasm and interest of our students for sustainable business practices.
The Careers and Employability Team at GBS will content to provide enriching opportunities for our students, helping students to think beyond the classroom. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to British Airways for their collaboration and dedication to nurturing the next generation of professionals who look forward to finding solutions that improve sustainability in the business and tourism landscape of the future.
