GBS students have shown just how much they value their lecturers, by taking their own initiative to recognise them with awards.

The students, Lucky, Kate, Anife, Barron, Ali, Javed and Ashdas, expressed their gratitude for lecturers’ mentorship, dedication and unwavering support.

Dr Solahudeen T Moomin, a business lecturer, was honoured by his students with a plaque.

Acts like this reinforce the genuine connection students forge with the academic staff across our campuses and demonstrates education can be truly transformative and change lives for the better.

One student, Lucky, elaborated on the initiative by saying, “The teachers were always there for us, relentlessly pushing and motivating us to ensure every assessment was completed on time, even when deadlines had passed. They encouraged us to take extra days when needed. Our teachers have been exceptional, unwavering in their support and dedication.

Other lecturers recognised by their students for their outstanding contributions to GBS include:

  • Alina Bari
  • Charles Kachitsa
  • Winifred Ali

This is why GBS has achieved such consistently high results in the annual National Student Survey. The 2024 results showed GBS surpassing sector averages in key areas like:

  • 93% satisfaction in teaching (7% above average)
  • 92% satisfaction in assessment and feedback (14% above average)
  • 95% satisfaction in academic support (10% above average)

This is the fifth consecutive year GBS has delivered positive NSS scores, and this recognition of these lecturers underscores the positive impact our staff have on students' academic journeys.

Students are at the heart of everything we do. We offer them flexibility to fit their studies around their busy lives.

These results and awards show that GBS has a tangible and positive impact on the lives of our students.
