GBS student Alexandru Iov reaches new heights for charity

In an incredible physical feat, GBS student Alexandru Iov hiked the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours as part of the National Three Peaks Challenge.

Hikers had from just 7:00am on May 16 to 7:00am on May 17 to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.

Supported by GBS, Alexandru was raising money the Keir Foundation and the Trussell Trust, two organisations very close to his heart.

He said completing the challenge wouldn’t have been possible without the support he received from GBS.

“The encouragement and financial support from GBS were pivotal in making this challenge a reality,” said Alexandru.

“Their belief in my goal fuelled my determination to succeed and to raise awareness and funds for a worthy cause.

“I am proud to be part of an institution that values and actively supports the charitable endeavours of its students.”

The money raised by Alexandru went directly to the Kier Foundation and the Trussell Trust, supporting a network of over 1,300 food banks across the United Kingdom.
