GBS is deepening its commitment to social responsibility through a new partnership with the Lions Club of Heston – supporting the creation of the District 105A Community Urban Farm.

The District 105A Community Urban Farm will be supplying fresh produce to local food banks while educating residents, schools, and families about sustainable farming and environmental stewardship.

This collaboration perfectly embodies one of GBS’s core values as we want to make a significant contribution to our communities. By providing volunteers from both our staff and students, GBS is helping to the Lions Club of Heston in their mission to transform unused land into a thriving communal garden space.

Lions Clubs International is the largest humanitarian organisation in the world, with over 1.4 million members worldwide. They have cooperated with a great deal of important international associations such as the United Nations and the World Health Organization. Through the 105A Community Urban Farm project, the Lions Club of Heston and GBS are bringing this global spirit of service to life in the heart of West London.

The project also directly contributes to several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), most notably Zero Hunger, Sustainable Cities and Communities and Life on Land. Together, these goals underpin a shared mission: tackling food insecurity, promoting sustainability, and strengthening local community resilience.

Speaking about the importance of this partnership, Jatinder Kaur, Hunger Officer and GET Lead Lions District 105A, said: “Heston Lions Club (District 105A) is proud to partner with Global Banking School (GBS) on our Urban Garden initiative. Their sponsorship and hands-on support - building raised beds, planting, watering, harvesting, and trimming - have brought new life to our community space. Together, we're growing more than plants - we're growing community.
