On 30 January 2025, our GEDU House campus in East London welcomed 112 HealthTech professionals for the second event in the National HealthTech Series. Organised by GBS, the conference aimed to promote employer engagement, mentorship, and job opportunities for students. Featuring keynote speeches, panel discussions, innovation pitching sessions, and interactive networking opportunities, the event served as a vibrant platform for collaboration between industry leaders and aspiring HealthTech innovators.

Building on the success of the first event in the series, the second conference expanded its focus to explore the latest innovations and their integration into healthcare systems.

The event commenced with a compelling roundtable discussion on “Integrating AI and HealthTech into Healthcare Systems.” This session was chaired by Dr David Bozward, Director of Entrepreneurship and Employability at GBS, and included esteemed panellists such as Anastasia Chalkidou, Associate Director of HealthTech at NICE; Francesca Markland, Senior Programme Manager for Remote Monitoring and Virtual Wards at NHS England; Michael Wright, Head of Innovation at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; and Philip Marais, Global Leader of the OVHcloud Startup Program. Together, they explored the transformative potential of AI and emerging HealthTech solutions within modern healthcare systems.

A standout moment of the conference was an innovation pitching session, where four international businesses showcased their groundbreaking ideas to a panel of experts. The panel included Madhur Srivastava, Founder and CEO of DocHQ (UK); Aleks Pajewski, Chief Product Officer of VitVio (UK and Netherlands); Amir Bozorgzadeh, Founder and CEO of VirtuLeap (Spain and Portugal); and Eduardo W. Jorgensen, Founder and CEO of Medicsen (UK and Spain). This session highlighted cutting-edge innovations in digital healthcare and provided attendees with insights into the global HealthTech landscape.

Reflecting on the success of the event, Dr David Bozward remarked, “The National HealthTech Series perfectly aligns with GBS’s mission to change lives through education. By bringing together HealthTech pioneers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs, we’re not only driving cutting-edge discussions but also creating tangible opportunities for our students and graduates to thrive in an ever-evolving healthcare ecosystem.” He added, “This event exemplifies our commitment to bridging education with industry, ensuring our learners are equipped with the skills, knowledge, and networks to make a meaningful impact in the world.”

The concluding event in the National HealthTech Series is scheduled for 13 March 2025 in Birmingham, promising another opportunity to connect innovators, professionals, and students in shaping the future of healthcare technology.
