GBS hosted an Enterprise Conference at our GEDU House campus this month which brought together several experienced industry and student entrepreneurs to inspire the next generation of business owners.
The conference was hosted by Ed Pearson, Senior Enterprise Officer, and Dr David Bozward, Director of Employability and Entrepreneurship, both from our Careers and Employability Team. They welcomed a range of speakers to inspire our students, such as:
Amardeep Singh, Founder and CEO of a range of companies including ClassFeeds.com, Cerenica Neurosciences, and Qubitl. A digital start-up visionary, he discussed the processes and steps necessary to formulate an idea and taking it all the way to becoming a fully functional business.
GBS students eagerly listened as he mentioned how entrepreneurship starts with having a determined mentality and ensuring that you are surrounded by positive people, as well as taking advantage of the vast resources GBS provide on campus – most notably, our eager and supportive Enterprise Officers located on every campus.
Octavian-Cristian Gavan, Founder of Hard Network Connections Ltd, and current GBS student, spoke to students about how he is building his own professional networking business. Octavian-Cristian saw a gap in the market to connect UK entrepreneurs, professionals and startups through business events, tailored services, and real-world opportunities that turn ideas into action.
Dr Vishwajeet Rana, who spoke about his own entrepreneurial journey which he began from humble beginnings to become Group CEO of Global Education, an organisation that is changing lives through education & making fundamental differences in living standards and access to learning globally.
Questions by inquisitive students in the audience were at the forefront of an engaging conference. All the speakers welcomed questions which ranged on a number of topics from how to get finance to which family members you should seek advice from! The back and forth ensured a connected and authentic experience was felt by all.
