GBS was delighted to welcome Baroness Sandip Verma, Member of the House of Lords, to its GEDU House, Stratford - London Campus on Thursday 24 April. The visit provided an inspiring opportunity for students to engage directly with a senior member of the UK Parliament and to explore important topics including leadership, sustainability, and academic integrity.

Baroness Verma began her visit by touring three classrooms where she spoke with students from a range of undergraduate programmes. The sessions were lively and engaging, with students eager to hear the Baroness’s insights and share their own ambitions.

Accompanied throughout the visit by GBS CEO, James Kennedy and Managing Director of External Engagement & Sustainability, Kevin McCole, Baroness Verma was also welcomed by Head of Community Outreach, Dr Dinesh Saraswat, and held discussions with senior leadership team including Director of UK Business Development, Asim Dutta, Associate Director of Business Development, Archana Nautiyal, and Senior PR and Communications Strategist, Arun Asthana.

A formal business meeting followed the classroom visits, during which Baroness Verma and the GBS leadership team discussed the institution’s community engagement initiatives, its commitment to sustainability in higher education, and ongoing efforts to enhance the student experience.

Baroness Verma’s presence was a valued moment for the GBS community, reinforcing our mission to empower students from diverse backgrounds and connect them with leaders shaping the future of business, policy, and education.
